Insurance Information

At Jackson County Gastroenterology, we are pleased to accept most local insurance plans. We provide skilled insurance personnel to assist in filing your claim and to prevent any misunderstandings about insurance coverage for our services.

Please refer to our Participating and Non-Participating Insurance List to see if your plan is accepted. Because insurance plan agreements change frequently, we recommend you call our office at 816- 229-1191 to confirm whether your insurance plan is currently accepted here before you make your appointment.

Please bring your insurance company address and/or your insurance card to your first office visit.

Important information that you should know:

  • If your insurance company requires a referral form, you must obtain one from your primary care physician prior to being seen in our office. Without the required referral, we will have to reschedule your appointment.

  • We accept Medicare assignments and participate in most health plans. For your convenience, we have provided a list of contracted insurance plans. PLEASE NOTE: This is not an all-inclusive list. We encourage you to call our office to verify that we do participate with your insurance carrier.

  • Our practice will gladly submit and follow-up with claims for services. Although we file your claim, you should understand that the balance in full is your responsibility. If your insurance carrier has not paid in 30 days, we recommend you call them immediately. We cannot accept responsibility for collecting your insurance claim or for negotiating a settlement on a disputed claim. Upon check-in we require a photo ID, current insurance card and co-payment if you have one.

  • Please pay any deductible, co-payment and/or balance not paid by your insurer. For your convenience, we accept personal checks, cash, Discover, Visa and MasterCard.

  • If you are more than 10 minutes late for an office visit we will assist you in rescheduling for another day. This is out of courtesy to our patients and physicians.
